The Renewable Energy Electric Generating System Application Instructions are linked here for your convenience.

NEW REQUIREMENT: The City of Richland now requires the Net Metering Application Fee be paid prior to submitting the application. The Paid Invoice Summary document, which references the solar installation address, is now a required attachment to each Application.

APPLICATION WORKFLOW: For this application to proceed to the Electrical Engineer for review, the Property Owner's email address is required. Following your signature and final submission, a prompt to enter the Property Owner's name and email address will appear. The Property Owner will receive an email notification to sign page 2 of this application. If the email is incorrect, the property owner will not know they need to sign the application to keep it moving in the workflow, and the City Engineer will not receive a notification to review. This application will not move forward without the Property Owner's signature and correct email.

Incorrect emails seems to be a common reason applications are not processing in a timely manner.
Please allow 10-14 working days before you receive a notice to proceed.

CHECK STATUS: You will be able to view the status of the application by logging in to your user account after the application has been submitted.
